Come Up For Air

Image of a seascape with a rock in the sea and birds in the air.

Have you ever noticed your posture when you’re stuck in your head? Shoulders slumped forward and probably creeping up towards your ears. Spine rounded, arms likely crossed in front of your caved-in chest. It’s as if your head has convinced you to bury your heart too deep to be found. Not the heart you find in an anatomy book, a more expansive heart, a compassionate space for love, creativity and insight.

To truly invite courageous inspiration into our hearts (not just into our minds) we have to be willing to move from stoic and academic to imaginative and visceral. Away from the kind of over-thinking that keeps us stuck at logic versus love. You might say we need to move from our head to our heart.
